About Salt Lake County Animal Services
Salt Lake County Animal Services offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans through its partnership with Pets for Patriots, and will help them find their new best friends. The municipal shelter is the largest “no kill” shelter in the state of Utah and, in addition to pet adoptions, is responsible for animal control, cruelty investigations, pet licensing and enforcement of animal-related ordinances.
The staff at the Salt Lake County Animal Services consists of a proven team of compassionate professionals. As part of its commitment to animals in the communities it serves, the shelter maintains a full-service, full-time veterinary clinic, a 24/7/365 field operation, and hosts more than 175 community outreach events each year. In addition, the organization offers free in-class humane education programs for schools in their service areas, and offers free microchip and vaccines through its voucher program.
Salt Lake County Animal Services welcomes monetary donations, as well as Kong toys, Karunda beds, cat treats and other items; see their Amazon wish lists for details. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or pet fosters.
