About Rancho Coastal Humane Society
The Rancho Coastal Humane Society offers dog and cat adoptions to San Diego county veterans through its partnership with Pets for Patriots, and will help them find their new best friends. Founded in 1960, the organization has grown to become a leading voice for homeless animals in the community.
In addition to adoption services, the Rancho Coastal Humane Society is dedicated to humane education, responsible pet ownership and assistance to animals of domestic violence survivors. The organization has many innovative programs to foster the human-pet bond and promote animal welfare. Its Second Chance program rescues animals from area municipal shelters in order to give them more time to find adoptive homes. This initiative was developed in partnership with the County of San Diego Department of Animal Services and gives many animals in municipal shelters a second chance at life.
As part of its commitment to animal welfare and community involvement, the Rancho Coastal Humane Society offers various humane education programs for children, including birthday parties and Dinner with the Dogs.
The Rancho Coastal Humane Society welcomes monetary donations, in addition to a wide range of pet and office supplies; see their complete wish list for details. For a more hands-on experience, consider becoming one of their valued volunteers or a pet foster.
