Guilford County Animal Services offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans through its partnership with Pets for Patriots.
In addition to pet adoption the shelter investigates animal cruelty and neglect complaints, and enforces state and local animal-related laws. Guilford County Animal Services works with the community to promote responsible pet guardianship and decrease the overpopulation of pets through spay/neuter programs.
The shelter has various community outreach initiatives. It offers low-cost rabies vaccinations and microchips to the public, and collaborates with an organization that builds no-cost fences for low-income and disabled dog guardians so that they comply with local laws.
Guilford County Animal Services welcomes monetary donations as well as in-kind contributions to its wish list. Become one of their valued volunteers or pet fosters for a more hands-on experience.
