About Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County
Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans through its partnership with Pets for Patriots, and will help them find their new best friends. The organization offers refuge for animals that have been abandoned, surrendered, neglected and abused, and finds them loving permanent homes.
In operation since 1952, the Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County is a “no kill” facility dedicated not only to pet adoption, but to humane education and assistance in the enforcement laws against animal abuse. As part of its history of compassion and caring, the shelter routinely features special needs animals who need an extra “paw up” in their quest for a second chance at life.
Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County welcomes monetary donations in support of their mission and work. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or pet fosters.
