Luke and Astro looking for love

Best friends forever

Luke & Astro: BFFs!

Luke and Astro are two shelter dogs hoping to find a love connection with a military veteran. While they long for their forever home, they’re being cared for by Quincy Animal Shelter, just south of Boston, and are eligible for an ongoing 20% discount off veterinary care if adopted by a member of our charitable program.

Luke the love bug

Luke is a young Boxer/Pit Bull mix who loves to play fetch and lead an active lifestyle. If you like to go jogging or take long walks – or even really long walks! – he just might be the perfect companion for you. He would do well in a household with kids over 16 years of age and gets along well with other dogs.

Luke loves to please and recently graduated from his agility training course. If you’re a service member or veteran in search of a buddy to keep you company and in tip-top shape, Luke is ready to show you his stuff!

Astro is Luke’s new BFF (that’s best friend forever), a beautiful blue-eyed mix who’s looking for a family to call his very own. Like his buddy, Astro has an active lifestyle – so couch potatoes need not apply. Smart, sweet and strong, Astro loves learning new tricks and would be a wonderful, loyal forever friend for a veteran. He’s good with other dogs and mature teens, but not cats. Astro just graduated from a Basic Manners course and has now set his sights on becoming a Canine Good Citizen.

Pets for Patriots member patriots adopting either of these dogs, or any other eligible pet from Quincy Animal Shelter, will receive 50% off their adoption fee. And our veterinary partner, Quarry Hills Animal Hospital, will extend a generous, ongoing 20% discount off their standard veterinary fees for any pet honorably adopted by a member of our program – including Luke and Astro.Astro waits for his next command

At Pets for Patriots, we’re passionate about giving last-chance pets a second chance at life. These are animals who found themselves in shelters, alone and unwanted, through no fault of their own.

If you or someone you know is interested to give Luke and Astro – or any needy pet – the chance at life they deserve, contact the Quincy Animal Shelter directly at 617-376-1349.

  1. Hairless Cat

    Hi P4P,

Luke and Astro sound like fun friends to have around. A person would get in good physical shape playing with those two guys each day (and they’d require daily rigorous play, too).

Best of luck with the adoption.

By the way, it would be great if you could write more stories about cats 🙂

like human beings dogs also need love. When they feel you love them, they reciprocate by loving you in return. That’s why dogs are indeed Man’s bestfriend.
