Ten years ago we had a simple idea. What if we took two completely different populations with similar needs and found a way to bring them together?

That is how Pets for Patriots got started, nearly 3,000 veteran-pet adoptions ago.

Everything we did and continue to do is thanks to the support of generous individuals, businesses, and sponsors. Now more than ever our veterans need that unwavering love of a four-legged best friend. And too many dogs and cats are in shelters waiting for their heroes.

Giving Tuesday Now – May 5, 2020 – is a global day of generosity and unity in response to unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

Pets for Patriots has been impacted by this worldwide crisis as well. But we remain steadfast in our commitment to the veterans and shelter animals whose lives depend upon our work.

So we are asking you to give the most important thing of all: gratitude.

By sharing our blog stories, the real life tales of how veterans and shelter pets are saving one another. Or telling someone you know about our how our mission inspires you. By joining us on social media to share the things – large and small – for which you are most thankful.

And if you are able, please make a donation of $5 or more to help sustain our lifesaving work. Because our veterans have always been there to answer our call, help us ensure that we answer theirs with the enduring love of an adopted pet.
