BSL and military life

Background:

BSL (Breed Specific Legislation) is common in many municipalities and within the military, often with devastating consequences for "banned" pets and their owners. Adding to the issue is that each branch of service has different breed bans, and individual bases may impose other restrictions as well. Further, military personnel living off-base are still subject to their local municipality's breed laws.

This article should explain the issue and how military personnel can educate themselves prior to pet adoption or, if they have a pet, prior to relocation so that they can plan for any eventuality with their pet.
