For the fourth consecutive year Pets for Patriots is approved as a national charity in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) for federal employee workplace giving. Our CFC number is 49553.
Charities that are approved to solicit pledges through the CFC undergo extensive screening by the federal government. Only those that meet high standards of financial transparency, accountability and responsibility are authorized to participate.
Individuals working for any federal entity can participate by completing a pledge form through their place of employment. Donations can be one-time or recurring, and are deducted throughout the following calendar year as a pre-tax charitable contribution. Pledges made in 2016 will be deducted from employees’ payroll in 2017.
The pledge deadline for the 2016-2017 campaign year is December 15, 2016.
Each year we have surpassed the previous year’s pledge totals, and hope to do so again during this pledge cycle:
- 2013-2014: $44,000
- 2014-2015: $69,700
- 2015-2016: $161,300
You can help us make our pledge goal of $200,000 for the 2016-2017 campaign.
So what does $200,000 mean in terms of impact?
Adoptions: $200,000 would be allocated to fully fund 400 veteran-pet adoptions, each including pre-adoption counseling, a generous contribution towards ‘welcome home’ pet food and other basics, and post-adoption follow up for a minimum of six months.
Veterinary care: $100,000 would fund essential, extraordinary or urgent veterinary care for pets adopted through our program. Whenever possible, our goal is to keep veterans and their four-legged battle buddies together – like Valerie and Sydney.
If you work for the federal government, choose Pets for Patriots as a beneficiary charity. If you have friends, family or neighbors who are federal employees, tell them about Pets for Patriots and why you support our mission and work. Maybe share a veteran-pet adoption story that inspires you. And don’t forget to give them our CFC number – 49553!
