About San Antonio Animal Care Services

The City of San Antonio Animal Care Services (ACS) offers dog and cat adoptions to Pets for Patriots member Patriots in San Antonio and will assist them in selecting their new best friend. The shelter has many wonderful adult dogs, cats and large dogs available for adoption at its new, state-of-the art campus-style facility.

ACS is committed to humane animal welfare and is working to become a no-kill shelter by 2012. To achieve this goal, it has numerous programs to promote spay/neuter, post-adoption veterinary care and an education campaign focused on responsible pet ownership, including free dog obedience training on the first and third Saturdays each month, and a low cost SpaySA clinic available to the public for spay/neuter surgery and vaccinations. In addition, the city operates two off-leash dog parks, the only ones of their kind in San Antonio.
