We’re proud to make the joys of pet ownership achievable and affordable to members of the military community. As one of the only organizations committed to both veterans and homeless, last-chance pets, we have the power to bring positive change to lives every day.

Our member Patriots come from all branches of the U.S. military and are in various stages of their military lives. Some are previous pet owners, while others are poised to discover the enjoyment of pet ownership for the very first time. Some want a companion pet to ease the stress of military transition or other emotional challenges, and others simply want a new best friend and loyal companion.

Save a life

Your service to our country already makes you a hero. At Pets for Patriots, we give you another chance to be heroic by saving the life of a dog or cat in need that still has many years of love and life to give.

We believe adult pet adoption is a heroic act. It means the path less traveled, since the majority of potential adopters want a puppy or kitten. While we advocate for all shelter adoptions, the plain fact is that there is ample demand for puppies and kittens, while perfectly viable dogs and cats languish. Sometimes the less popular choice is not only the right choice for you and your family, but the most noble as well.

Unfortunately, the last-chance pets we’re devoted to save face near certain death in a shelter and that certainty only grows with the age of the pet. Many people are simply uninformed about the wonderful and unique benefits of adult pet ownership.

Serving in the military is all about loyalty: to our country and its values, to your unit, to your brothers and sisters in arms. In that same spirit, we provide our member Patriots with long-term support for a four-legged friend. A friend who’s dedicated to your happiness from the moment you give it a second chance at life. We think that’s a pretty special friend.
