About The Humane Association of CNY Inc

The Humane Association of Central New York offers dog and cat adoptions in the greater Syracuse area and will help Pets for Patriots members find their new best friend. Since 1966, the Humane Association of Central New York has worked to find 'forever' homes for the community's abandoned, homeless and neglected cats and dogs. The organization provides shelter, medical attention and loving care to approximately 400 cats and dogs every year, and are especially proud of their no-kill philosophy, which means that animals remain in their care for as long as it takes to find them a special new home.

As part of its commitment to responsible pet ownership, the Humane Association of Central New York sells certificates for low-cost spay/neuter at select local veterinarians, and posts flyers at the shelter for owners who have lost their pet. Their experienced staff is careful to match the right owner to the right pet, and takes the time to understand each animal's personality while it is in their charge.
