About St. Joseph Bay Humane Society
St. Joseph Bay Humane Society offers dog and cat adoptions to Pets for Patriots members in Gulf County and will help them find their new best friend. The organization was formed in response to the plight of homeless animals in the community to relieve animal suffering, prevent animal cruelty, promote humane education and enhance the human-animal bond.
As part of its commitment to responsible pet ownership, St. Joseph Bay Humane Society offers free spay/neuter on a first come, first served basis to help reduce pet overpopulation. In addition, the shelter participates in a a joint effort with Gulf Correctional Institution as part of the innovative DAWGS in Prison program, which has placed dogs in 13 states. As of 2012, thousands of animals have been adopted to happy homes through all of the shelter's initiatives.
St. Joseph Bay Humane Society welcomes monetary donations, as well as in-kind contributions of pet food, cleaning supplies and other necessities; see their complete wish list for details. For a more hands-on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or pet fosters.
