About PAWS Shelter and Humane Society
PAWS Shelter and Humane Society offers pet adoptions to Pets for Patriots member Patriots and will assist them in selecting their new best friend. Operating since 1986, this no-kill shelter gives sanctuary for homeless, abused and abandoned animals throughout central Texas, providing medical care and socialization until they are adopted.
As part of its commitment to animal rehabilitation and responsible pet ownership, PAWS provides behavioral assessments for all animals in its charge, conducts humane education programs in area schools and launched its Cell Dog Program, which engages local inmates to train select dogs in preparation for their adoption.
PAWS Shelter and Humane Society needs monetary donations towards ongoing operations and the construction of a new shelter facility. For a more hands-on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or a pet foster.
Adoption fees include:
Spay/neuter
Microchip for permanent identification
Up-to-date vaccinations, including rabies
Treatment for fleas, ticks, etc. as needed
Behavior screening
