About PAWS Chicago

Paws Chicago is the largest no-kill animal humane organization in the midwest and will help Pets for Patriots member find their new best friend. Since its founding in 1997, the shelter has reduced pet overpopulation through public education, innovative off-site adoption events and a commitment to free/low-cost spay neuter to reduce pet overpopulation.

In 2001, PAWS Chicago opened its Lurie Spay/Neuter Clinic, the largest of its kind in the Chicago area, and operates a mobile spay/neuter service through a partnership with the PETCO Foundation. In addition, the organization operates a veterinary clinic that is open to the public, where it provides vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative (dogs), FelV/FIV testing (cats), spay/neuter surgery, flea treatment and microchip for permanent identification.

PAWS Chicago welcomes monetary donations, as well as contributions of gift cards, pet food and toys, cleaning supplies and other items; see their wish list for details. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or pet fosters.
