About Meridian Valley Humane Society

Meridian Valley Humane Society offers adoptable dogs to veterans in the greater Boise area through its partnership with Pets for Patriots, and will help them find their new best friends.

In 2013, the City of Meridian contracted with the Idaho Humane Society to provide animal control and sheltering in the City of Meridian. The Meridian Animal Shelter closed on September 30th, 2013 and remaining dogs were transferred to the Idaho Humane Society. A dedicated group of these Meridian shelter volunteers formed a new Board of Directors and became an independent canine rescue focusing on dogs whose owners are no longer able to care for them.

The Meridian Valley Humane Society welcomes monetary donations, as well as in-kind contributions of bagged dog food, pill pockets, nylabones and various dog, cleaning and office supplies. See their complete wish list for details. For a more hands-on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or a pet foster.

Adoption fees include:

Vaccination for Canine Distemper-Adenovirus; Type II Parainfluenza, Parvo, Corona and Bordatella
Rabies vaccination (most dogs)
Leash and collar
