About Livingston County Humane Society
The Chillicothe Animal Shelter offers pet adoptions to Pets for Patriots member Patriots and will assist them in selecting their new best friend. The organization is managed by the Livingston County Humane Society, which is responsible for city animal control and enforcement of animal ordinances, in addition to dog and cat adoptions. To give both people and pets a second chance, the Chillicothe Animal Shelter is partnering with the Missouri Department of Corrections’ Puppies for Parole program, the canine graduates of which are eligible for adoption.
In addition to monetary donations, the Chillicothe Animal Shelter welcomes contributions of pet food and Kuranda beds.
Adoption fees include:
Spay/neuter
Microchip
All vaccinations (including rabies, for dogs)
Heartworm testing, preventative Bordatella, fecals (dogs)
Ear check, Frontline for fleas, Heartguard for heartworm (dogs)
Dental if needed (dogs)
