About Leavenworth County Humane Society

The Leavenworth County Humane Society offers pet adoptions to Pets for Patriots member Patriots and will assist them in selecting their new best friend. The organization was founded to prevent animal cruelty, return lost pets to their owners and provide public education about responsible pet ownership and humane animal population control. All adoptable dogs and cats are cared for in state licensed foster homes, where they receive proper socialization and training to enhance their adoption potential.

The Leavenworth County Humane Society aims to build a centrally-located, no-kill shelter, from which it can expand services to people and pets throughout Leavenworth County, including Fort Leavenworth. If for any reason an adopter cannot keep the pet for life, the Leavenworth County Humane Society will take it back.
