About Kentucky Humane Society

The Kentucky Humane Society offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans in partnership with Pets for Patriots, and will help them find their new best friends. The oldest and largest animal welfare agency in the state, the Kentucky Humane Society accepts any dog or cat in need, regardless of age, background, breed or temperament.

Serving the Louisville and surrounding communities for more than 125 years, the Kentucky Humane Society offers more than pet adoptions, including behavior training, humane education for children, a S.N.I.P. spay/neuter clinic and various pet care programs. The organization holds a four-star Charity Navigator rating.

The Kentucky Humane Society welcomes monetary donations as well as in-kind contributions of gently used blankets, sheets and towels, pet food, toys and cleaning supplies; see their complete wish list for details. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or pet fosters.
