Humane Society of Valdosta-Lowndes County

The Humane Society of Valdosta/Lowndes County offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans through its partnership with Pets for Patriots.

Various programs provide affordable resources to benefit people and pets. The Humane Society of Valdosta/Lowndes County Moody Pet Guardian Angel Program provides temporary foster care to pets of service members deployed through nearby Moody AFB. Through the shelter’s Hamilton Hounds-New Leash on Life program, rescue dogs receive basic training by inmate handlers to prepare them for life in their forever homes. In addition, the shelter has a spay/neuter initiative for feral cats, and a publicly available low-cost spay/neuter program for companion animals.
