About Humane Society of the Huron Valley
Humane Society of Huron Valley offers dog and cat adoptions to member patriots in our program and will assist them in finding their new best friend. Founded in 1896, the organization is the only open admission shelter in Washtenaw County, taking in all unwanted, injured, lost, stray, abandoned and abused animals.
As testament to its dedication to responsible pet ownership, Humane Society of Huron Valley maintains a comprehensive humane education program. Among their many programs for children are summer and winter camp PAWS, Little Paws Story Times for toddlers and Junior Volunteers Club for high school students. To help prevent owner surrender for individuals experiencing financial hardship, the shelter operates a Bountiful Bowls pet food assistance program for residents in Washtenaw County, Canton and Plymouth.
Humane Society of Huron Valley accepts monetary donations, as well as contributions of various goods and services. See their website for complete details on giving opportunities.
