About Escondido Humane Society
Escondido Humane Society offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans in the Pets for Patriots program and will assist them in selecting their new best friend. Established in 1915, the organization provides care and adoption for the animals in its charge as well as education and protection services to residents of north inland San Diego County. The Escondido Humane Society is an open-door shelter and one of the few California shelters that accepts all strays.
As part of its commitment to responsible pet ownership and education, the Escondido Humane Society offers programs for both adults and children that stress the pet-person bond. Programs include summer camps, classroom visits, special events, pet therapy and adult-education classes.
The Escondido Humane Society accepts monetary donations in addition to a wide range of dog, cat and veterinary supplies. See their wish list for complete details.
Adoption fees include:
Professional veterinary examination
Complimentary wellness check at local veterinary partner (choice of 20+)
Vaccination panel (dogs/puppies and cats/kittens only)
Behavioral exam
License (valid in Escondido, San Marcos, and Poway)
De-worming (for all puppies/kittens under 4 months, and adults if needed)
Microchipping and registration with Home Again
Complimentary consultations with behaviorist (dogs/puppies and cats/Kittens) for pet's lifetime
Educational materials on the care of the animal
Spay/neuter at Humane Society
FeLv/FIV testing (cats/kittens)
