About Colorado Animal Welfare League

The Colorado Animal Welfare League (CAWL) offers pet adoptions to Pets for Patriots member Patriots in Colorado and will assist them in selecting their new best friend. In addition to protecting homeless animals in its native state, CAWL helps animals in need in Nebraska, Kansas, Wyoming and New Mexico. The mission of the Colorado Animal Welfare League is to expedite the adoption of hard-to-place animals, such as those with black fur, as well as senior and special needs pets. All animals CAWL rescues are fostered until their adoption, where they receive routine veterinary care and home socialization.

CAWL works actively in the community to educate people about the need for spaying and neutering pets to reduce overpopulation. The organization takes its mobile spay/neuter clinic into underserved and rural communities for free spay/neuter surgeries. Every adopted dog or cat will receive.

To support its operations and foster families, CAWL needs kongs and nylabones, wet and dry cat food, collars and leashes, outdoor pet enclosures and various forms of pet foods. For details, see their entire wish list or consider becoming one of their valued volunteers.

Adoption fees include:

Distemper, Parvo and rabies vaccinations
Spay/neuter surgery per Colorado law, if not previously sterilized
Complete medical exam
Deworming, or negative fecal test
Collar
CAWL ID tag
Two week trial adoption period with full refund of adoption fees for personality or veterinary concerns
