About Caroline County Humane Society
The Caroline County Humane Society offers dog and cat adoptions to Pets for Patriots members on Delmarva and will help them find their new best friend. The organization is partially funded by the county and is contracted by it for all animal control services, including investigation of cruelty complaints, calls regarding lost, injured or dangerous domestic animals and other related activities.
The humane society is a “low-kill” shelter, meaning that animals are only euthanized for issues such as aggression towards people, terminal illness or other circumstances that make them unadoptable. As part of its commitment to responsible pet ownership, the Caroline County Humane Society maintains a low-cost spay/neuter clinic and a trap-neuter-return (TNR) program to reduce the feral cat population humanely. In addition, the organization offers a wide range of animal care resources on its site, including weather-related pet care tips and information on licensing.
The Caroline County Humane Society welcomes monetary donations, as well as in-kind gifts of pet food and toys, blankets and towels, cleaning supplies, office equipment and other items. See their complete wish list for details. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or pet fosters.
