About Calhoun County Animal Center

Calhoun County Animal Center offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans through its partnership with Pets for Patriots, and will help them find their new best friend. The organization takes in all dog and cat strays in Calhoun County and the city of Battle Creek regardless of breed, as well as animals who are abandoned, abused, neglected and those held for pending court cases.

As part of its commitment to homeless animals in its community, the Calhoun County Animal Center provides extensive humane education, a clean and professionally-managed facility and a staff with a passion for animals. The organization is a founding member of the Calhoun County Animal Coalition, which aims to humanely reduce pet overpopulation through spay/neuter and public education.

In addition to pet adoption, Calhoun County Animal Center offers low-cost microchipping for permanent pet identification and low-cost spay/neuter through Maddies Fund.

Adoption fees include:

Microchip for permanent identification
All initial vaccinations
Heartworm test and preventative
