About Albany Humane Society

Albany Humane Society offers dog and cat adoptions to veterans in partnership with Pets for Patriots, and will help them find their new best friend. The shelter provides care and adoption for animals received from t he city of Albany and Dougherty County, owner surrenders and strays found by concerned citizens.

As part of its commitment to prevent animal cruelty and relieve the suffering of animals, Albany Humane Society collaborates with other agencies concerning the legal and health consequences of animals and their interaction with human populations. In addition, the organization maintains a humane education program for residents of the greater Dougherty County area of Southwest Georgia, as well as low-cost spay/neuter services and microchip for permanent pet identification.

Albany Humane Society welcomes monetary donations, and welcomes sponsorships and support from local businesses as well. For a more hands on experience, become one of their valued volunteers.

Adoption fees include:

Rabies vaccine
Bordetella vaccines
Fecal exam
Overnight boarding at veterinarian with 24-hour pain medication
DHLPP vaccine (dogs)
FRCP vaccine (cats)
