About Kitsap Humane Society
The Kitsap Humane Society offers dog and cat adoptions to Pets for Patriots member Patriots and will assist them in selecting their new best friend. Founded in 1908, the organization is a tireless advocate for homeless, lost, ill and unwanted animals.
In addition to pet adoption, the Kitsap Humane Society has an Animal Rescue and Enforcement team to investigate abuse complaints and enforce local animal cruelty ordinances. To support responsible pet ownership, the shelter offers various classroom-based education programs, low-cost spay/neuter and guided shelter tours. Pet owners can call the organization’s Pet Behavior Hotline for help correcting common behavioral issues, and the shelter features an innovative pit bull education program to challenge common misperceptions of these dogs.
The Kitsap Humane Society welcomes monetary donations, in addition to a wide range of kennel supplies, toys and medicine; see their complete wish list for details. For a more hands-on experience, become one of their valued volunteers or a pet foster.
